Amma's Kitchen ~ Collingwood

Children, love the poor wholeheartedly. Go to their level. Believe that it is your dharma, your God-given duty to love and serve the poor. No matter how rich we are, as long as we are not prepared to be compassionate towards the poor, we are truly living in utter poverty. -Amma

Amma is a humanitarian spiritual leader. Her charitable projects to love and serve people in need are global.
Gypsy loves Amma

If you know someone in the Collingwood area who is in need of a free meal,  please inform them of Amma's Melbourne Kitchen.

On the first Saturday of every month, volunteers from Amma's Humanitarian Activities will prepare and serve a beautiful vegetarian meal for lunch from 12:30pm

Alfa Bakehouse ~ Yarraville

42 Anderson St
Yarraville

Gypsy loves walking through Yarraville village. Every village needs a good bakery and Alfa Bakehouse fulfills this requirement in Yarraville!
Gypsy meeting a friend outside Alpha Bakehouse
There is ample seating inside or if you are a dog-lover there are a few seats and single tables just outside the door. The bakery offers everything from AMAZING cakes and desserts to cooked breakfasts and lunches and freshly-made sandwiches.

We encourage table manners, but Gypsy did have a little peak to see what was on the table. Even humans sticky beak at yummy arrivals!

Afternoon treat selections were Lemon Meringue Pie, Lime Citrus Tart & Chai Lattes.

Next time, Gypsy has recommended the baklava. Mmmmmmmmmm ;-)

NSHRY ~ Albert Park

129A Beaconsfield Pde
Albert Park 3206

Gypsy took advantage of some beautiful Melbourne weather and decided somewhere along the bay for lunch was called for. Nshry in Albert Park, opposite Kerferd Rd right near the pier, was today's location!

It was a gorgeous spot, with food to match. The cafe is relatively new and our thoughts are, they are still finding their feet with service. All our meals arrived at different times, with the last arriving 50 minutes after we placed our order. Do check out our meal pictures though, as you will see a great variety of food with exceptional quality from the brunch & lunch menu. And the cafe were very apologetic, offering drinks on the house for their delays.

Watermelon Breakfast Juice
Noisette Fig and Apricot Loaf
Croque Madame
Confit Duck Salad
Beer Battered Chips
Gypsy loved climbing on the rock walls while we waited for our meals to arrive! The beach in front of the cafe doesn't allow dogs from November 1- March 31, but there are wide pathways for long walks for both pedestrians and cyclists, which can be enjoyed by dog lovers all Summer long!

The cafe is dog-friendly, bringing all dogs water upon their arrival. As lunch was extended, we later tied Gypsy up to a tree just outside the cafe near our table, and she happily lazed under the tree amongst the grass and rocks.

If you have time for an extended lunch and don't mind waiting, you will be sure to enjoy the delights on Nshry's menu ;-)

Gravy Train Cafe ~ Yarraville

 83 Gamon St
Yarraville 3013

(03) 9687 9866
Gypsy loves coming out for brunch, but when it is pouring with rain, it leaves few options for alfresco dining!

The Gravy Train Cafe in Yarraville has a wonderful front courtyard fully enclosed with heaters protecting you & your dog from the miserable weather outdoors!
It has a relaxed ambience & for some reason Gypsy always gets a lot of love & attention when we eat here. She loves meeting new people.

The sweet special ~ raspberry & white chocolate French toast was superb!

You can never really go wrong with a big breakfast, especially with home-made relish ;-)

Despite the buzz inside the cafe, the courtyard was not forgotten & service was punctual & friendly.

Don't let the rain get you down, you can still enjoy a brunch out of the house ~ with your pup!
