Howloween!

Gypsy would like to wish all her friends a
Happy Howloween!

Gypsy in her pumpkin costume!

Gypsy eating her treats  ;-)

Gypsy's favourite part of Howloween is Trick or Treating! In the sense of giving, not receiving. We've filled little pumpkins with lollies for neighbourhood children, and one little pumpkin filled with dog treats for Gypsy. Melbourne has appeared to embrace this American tradition, with all stores filled with costumes, lanterns and other Halloween inspired decorations.

The cutest pumpkin in the patch!

Snag Stand ~ Melbourne Central

Melbourne Central
Cnr La Trobe & Swanston St
www.snagstand.com.au

Gypsy may have stumbled across this new 'haute dog' stand whilst taking an urban dog walk. What dog wouldn't want to pull up at a brightly coloured gourmet sausage stand to take in the smells and sights?!

Snag Stand opened this week and judging by the consistent queue, it was long overdue to open in Melbourne.

After visiting their webpage, we discovered they use the highest quality of produce, sourced from local artisan butchers. AND fear not, all gourmet sausages are gluten-free AND the vegetarian option sounds amazing!

Their menu is available online so make sure you check out their webpage! Judging by all the happy snaps of sausages and smiling faces, this is a sausage stand worth dropping by!

It is truly a wonderful shopping experience!
Gypsy was not happy waiting outside! She kept sneaking into the front door, drawn in by the beautiful smells! Must of been some of the wonderful handmade soaps available inside!
There are some funky gift cards also, that play on places in Melbourne like train stations etc. There is an air of vintage throughout the store also, from cards to bags to journals.

There is still a limited amount of tickets available to her shows on the 26th, 27th and 29th of October.

This tour will differ from her previous concert schedules in that she will perform music exclusively from her chart topping CD NUMBER ONES in a much more intimate setting. In each selected city JANET will offer something different to her performance so no show will be the same.
Janet is a dog lover!
This tour is JANET more revealed, more intimate, and more personal than ever before. Don't look for special effects. Just listen to and look at Janet, as you have never seen her before.

Can't wait to see what unique performance she will offer her Melbourne audiences!

Spinifex ~ Kensington

192 Bellair St
Kensington
ph 03 9372 2285

Gypsy had a lovely brunch at Spinifex in Kensington! The friendly staff were quick to respond to us all sitting down. The lovely thing was they greeted Gypsy first!
Then straight to coffee orders.

Just before placing orders, a to-die-for Hot Chocolate arrived on a table nearby. It swayed us to request Mochas. A fabulous decision!
Gypsy met a new friend, Princess and they were enchanted by each other, as were we watching them together! The staff were so dog-friendly which made our brunch even more enjoyable.

Our Rosti Breakfast arrived shortly after we finished our coffees. A gorgeous breakfast, with some of our favourite elements ~ asparagus, tomato relish, roasted peppered tomatoes and a light rosti stack topped with poached eggs & hollandaise. YUM!

Gypsy definitely recommends Spinifex to other dogs and their hungry, hip owners!

Gypsy's Showbag

Gypsy missed out on going to The Royal Melbourne Show, because she was recovering from eye surgery. So we made up her own showbag.  She got a new Space Invaders leash, a purple harness (on its way from America) and a selection of her favourite treats.
Gypsy has been such a resilient, happy pup despite having an eye the size of a golf ball, stitches, a Tudor bucket to wear and then losing her eye permanently. Within hours of surgery, she was back to her beautiful, cheery self.

This post is just for our puppy girl, who we adore because she teaches us to be better people. We both wonder what life was like before Gypsy. Did we appreciate the small things as much? Did we sit on the back porch in the patch of sunshine and smile in the moment? Did we laugh deep between the ribs?

Gypsy, we love you for showing us what is important in life. And when life steals an eye from you (when life gets tough), just keep on moving with a smile. and a snort.
xx

National Swap Day

 ~ Melbourne ~
Monday October 17
6:30pm-8:30pm
BMW Edge. Federation Square
www.clothingexchange.com.au

National Swap Day was such a success last year, that The Clothing Exchange have decided to do it all over again. This year they are collaborating with 3things by Oxfam, Fitted for WorkEthical Clothing Australia and PlanBig.

So, how does it work?

Step 1. Raid your wardrobe for up to 6 garments or accessories you think others will value but that you no longer wear.

Step 2. Arrive at ‘check-in’ where your garments are reviewed and counted. For each garment given, you receive one button which you’ll use later to buy another garment in return. While the other participants check in, relax and catch up with your girlfriends! Please note: they screen all garments at the door to uphold the quality of swaps for the enjoyment of all.

Step 3. After check-in has concluded, they officially open ‘shop’ to ensure that every guest has a fair hunt!

Step 4. After finding an armful of ‘new’ garments, guests proceed to the check-out where you pay in buttons for your ‘new’ wardrobe.
