Introducing Poppet ;-)

Gypsy would like to introduce her new sister, Poppet!
Poppet is 4 years old and is a brave & beautiful girl from
'Saffron on the Hill'.
After care & rehabilitation from Karen & her foster family @ 'Saffron on the Hill', we officially adopted her today.

A welcome gift ~ Gypsy & Poppet have 'G' and 'P' hanging off their awesome 'Saffron on the Hill' collars ;-)

The pugs are staying cool today by snoozing on the tiles or dipping their paws in their splash pool & look forward to going on adventures together in & about Melbourne. To think, Poppet will have her first dog-friendly cafe experience with her lil' sister Gypsy showing her the ropes. It's really easy Poppet. All you have to do is

a) look cute
b) look cute
c) look cute

Poppet will be sure to love the cafe scene as much as Gypsy does. Right now though we are all too hot & bothered to talk coffee. So, stay tuned for updates!

Jazz in the Gardens ~ Prahran

For a decade now, jazz-lovers have flocked to Stonnington Council’s most beautiful gardens to be treated to performances by some of Melbourne’s finest jazz musicians.
The Stonnington Gardens Jazz Showband, led by the great Bob Sedergreen, will offer a selection of high profile special guests to ensure sunny evenings of musical delight.

**Gypsy attended the first Jazz in the Gardens tonight at Victoria Gardens. She enjoyed being part of a wonderful picnic with friends & was one of many dogs visiting this popular gardens. Eddie Perfect was the special guest vocalist, who was absolutely fabulous! Jazz Standards definitely fit under his umbrella of many talents ;-)

National Dress Up Your Pet Day

Here are some of Gypsy's favourite dress-up moments!

I got very excited when Kate & William got married. Here I am wearing my royal crown. I even tried mushy peas! So English!

This is me wearing my Melbourne Victory scarf hoping that Harry Kewell will take notice of me. I'm just wild about Harry!

I am the cutest pumpkin in the patch. Howloween 2011

I love Christmas! My cousin Dizzy dressed up as 'Dasher' the Reindeer and
I was the Sugar-Plum Fairy!

Finally, my favourite dress-up as it spreads awareness about my friend Oscar & his law.
I hope people think hmmm what is Oscar's Law? when I wear it and look it up or stop and ask me about it.

Gypsy wants Oscar's Law!

Saffron on the Hill

Gypsy bought this beautiful collar from 'Saffron on the Hill'.
Their small business is 100% about raising funds for the rescue dogs at 'Sanctuary on the Hill', which is based in Loch, Victoria. They do not have a 'not fo profit' status so this store raises much needed funds to continue helping their lovely dogs.
All profits go straight towards vet work, care and rehabilitation of rescue dogs at 'Sanctuary on the Hill'.

Just a few of the special collars available.

Airborne EARS! Gypsy playing at home after her big day out
(she is now snoring ~ pooped!)

Please visit our link button on our blog panel to 'Saffron on the Hill' and familiarise yourselves with the amazing pugs that are rehabilitated and cared for at Sanctuary on the Hill. We saw lots of looks of love not fear today during our visit. This is not an automatic response, but it is due to the hours, sometimes months and years of love, dedication and physical and emotional rehabilitation Karen and all her foster team gives to each and every pug breed that is rescued.

Thank-you Karen for an amazing day out at 'Sanctuary on the Hill'.
Please support this worthy cause.

Pet-Friendly Accommodation links

Gypsy loves travelling. Her first holiday was to a farm in Berrybank. She was fascinated by sheep and loved running in the paddocks. Gypsy also flies with Qantas, who allow you to check your small dog for free as your 'checked baggage'. You can always add excess baggage for $20 if you would like to take a checked suitcase as well as your carry on. We have found this to be the most affordable option and have been pleased with the Qantas staff and their care with pets. Gypsy travelled with four other dogs on her recent flight! We hope they keep each other company on the plane ;-) We opt to fly her as 4 hours alone in a travel cage is worth it for a long holiday surrounded by family & friends.

We are fortunate that Gypsy loves car trips. She often sleeps on longer drives. Some of her cousins don't travel so well in the car so it is up to the individual dog. We took her in the car from a young age and make regular stops. Regular bursts of fresh air over air conditioning help us all too ;-)

Planning a trip to Melbourne?
Or do you live in Melbourne & would like to escape to other parts of Victoria for a mini-break away?
Here are some links for Pet-Friendly Accommodation in Melbourne and other parts of  Victoria. There are links to popular search engines or direct links to accommodation. Please let us know if you have any personal recommendations. In the meantime, be sure to check travel & pet forums for reviews ;-)
